Jealous for His Glory
Exodus 20:5 (KJV): "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me."
Abba Father, in the name of Jesus, in reverence, we come before You,
acknowledging the profound truth expressed in Exodus 20:5, "Thou shalt not
bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous
God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and
fourth generation of them that hate me."
Lord,
Your jealousy is a reflection of Your infinite love and desire for a devoted
relationship with us. As we contemplate this commandment, we recognize the
significance of wholehearted devotion to You and the consequences of turning
away from Your love.
Forgive
us, Lord, for any moments where we have allowed other things to take precedence
in our lives over our love and commitment to You. Create in us a steadfast
heart that seeks only to worship and serve You, acknowledging Your rightful
place as the one true God.
May
our love for You be unwavering, and may our lives reflect a devotion that spans
generations, passing down a legacy of faithfulness. Protect us from the lure of
false idols and guide us into a deeper understanding of Your jealous love.
