4 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.
2 O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.
3 But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.
4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
6 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.
7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.
8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.
Prayer :
Abba Father,
I come before You with gratitude, acknowledging that You are the God of my righteousness. In times of distress, You have enlarged my heart and shown me mercy. Hear me, O Lord, as I bring my prayers before You.
In a world filled with vanity and deception, where glory is turned to shame, I seek Your guidance and strength. Help me, Lord, to love righteousness and to trust in Your unfailing goodness. Set me apart for Yourself, that I may walk in godliness, knowing that You hear me when I call.
In moments of reflection, may I stand in awe of Your majesty and refrain from sin. Let me commune with my own heart, finding stillness and peace in Your presence. Help me to offer sacrifices of righteousness and to put my trust wholly in You.
Lord, in a world that often seeks after temporary pleasures, I ask for Your light to shine upon us. Lift up the light of Your countenance, bringing joy and gladness to our hearts that surpasses any earthly abundance.
As I lay down in peace and sleep, I entrust my safety to You alone. You, Lord, are my refuge and the source of true security. May Your presence surround me, and may I find rest in the assurance of Your love.
I pray this in the name of Jesus,
Amen.
