Psalm 45

1 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. 2 Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever. 3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty. 4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things. 5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee. 6 Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever: the scepter of thy kingdom is a right scepter. 7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 8 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. 9 Kings' daughters were among thy honorable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir. 10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house; 11 So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him. 12 And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall entreat thy favor. 13 The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold. 14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee. 15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace. 16 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth. 17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee forever and ever. Prayer :

Abba Father, in the name of Jesus, as we contemplate the words of Psalm 45, a song celebrating the beauty and majesty of the king, we are reminded of the ultimate King, our Lord Jesus Christ. My heart is stirred, and I join in the psalmist's song, recognizing the goodness and grace poured into His lips.

Lord Jesus, You are fairer than the children of men, and grace abounds in You eternally. You wield a sword of truth, righteousness, and meekness. Prosper in Your majesty, and may Your right hand teach us the things that are awe-inspiring.

Your arrows, sharp in the hearts of Your enemies, bring them to fall. Your throne, O God, is forever, and Your kingdom's scepter is just and true. You love righteousness and hate wickedness, and God, Your Father, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above all.

In the beauty of Your holiness, may we worship You, our Lord. You are the desire of our hearts, the one we worship and adore. As the king's daughters among honorable women, may we be adorned in the righteousness You provide.

We, the bride of Christ, listen to Your call, forgetting our past and cleaving to You, our Lord. The nations bring gifts, and the rich seek Your favor. Clothe us with Your glory, and may we, as virgins, be brought into the presence of the King.

With gladness and rejoicing, we enter Your palace, O Lord. Instead of our earthly fathers, You make us Your children, and we become princes in all the earth. We praise Your name forever and ever. May Your people remember and worship You through all generations.

In the precious name of Jesus, our King, we pray.

Amen.

Psalm 44

1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. 2 How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out. 3 For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. 4 Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob. 5 Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us. 6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. 7 But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us. 8 In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name forever. Selah. 9 But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies. 10 Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves. 11 Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat, and hast scattered us among the heathen. 12 Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price. 13 Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us. 14 Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people. 15 My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me, 16 For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth, by reason of the enemy and avenger. 17 All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant. 18 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way; 19 Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death. 20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god; 21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart. 22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter. 23 Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off forever. 24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression? 25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth. 26 Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake. Prayer:

Abba Father, in the name of Jesus, we have heard with our ears of Your mighty deeds in times of old, how You drove out nations and planted Your people. It was not by their own strength, but by Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because of Your favor toward them. You are our King, and we ask for Your command of deliverance for Your people.

Through You, we push down our enemies; through Your name, we tread upon those who rise against us. We acknowledge that our trust is not in our own abilities but in You, the source of our strength and salvation.

Yet, Lord, we find ourselves in times of trouble. We have faced shame and setbacks, and it seems as if You have cast us off. Our hearts are turned back from the enemy, and we feel scattered among the nations. Our situation is known to You, and we pour out our hearts in honesty.

Even in our affliction, we have not forgotten You. Our hearts have not turned away from Your covenant. We confess our dependence on You, acknowledging that without You, we are like sheep appointed for slaughter. We are vulnerable and in need of Your mercy.

Awake, O Lord! Do not cast us off forever. In our distress, we seek Your face and ask for Your redemption. Our souls are bowed down, and we cleave to the earth, but we look to You for help. Arise for our assistance, and redeem us for the sake of Your mercies.

In Jesus' name, we pray.

Amen.

Psalm 43

1 Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

2 For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? 3 O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. 4 Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God. 5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. Prayer:

Abba Father, in the name of Jesus, Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against the challenges and ungodly influences around me. Deliver me from deceitful and unjust situations, and be my refuge in times of oppression. You are the God of my strength, and I come before You, acknowledging my need for Your guidance and intervention.

Lord, when I feel cast off and burdened by the struggles of life, I turn to You. Why should my soul be downcast? In moments of distress, send out Your light and truth to lead me. Guide me to Your holy hill and the place where You dwell, that I may find solace in Your presence.

As I approach You, the altar of God, be my exceeding joy. I praise You with a grateful heart, playing the harp of thanksgiving to You, O God, my source of strength and hope.

In times of uncertainty, I ask for Your light to illuminate my path and Your truth to guide my steps. Help me to remain steadfast in my trust, even when circumstances seem overwhelming.

Why, O my soul, are you cast down? Why are you disquieted within me? My hope is in You, O God. I choose to fix my eyes on You, for You are the health of my countenance and my God.

In the name of Jesus, I pray.

Amen.

Psalm 42

1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. 2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? 3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? 4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday. 5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. 6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar. 7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. 8 Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. 9 I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? 10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God? 11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. Prayer:

Abba Father, in the name of Jesus, as the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul longs for You, O God. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. In a world that often questions and challenges my faith, I thirst for Your presence, the source of true satisfaction and joy.

In times when tears are my food day and night, and the world mocks and asks, "Where is your God?" I turn to You. I pour out my soul before You, remembering the times of joy and praise in Your house. Yet, in moments of despair, I find my hope in You.

When my soul is cast down, and troubles surround me like deep waters, I choose to put my trust in You. I remember Your faithfulness, and I lift my eyes to the hills, seeking refuge in You, my Rock.

Lord, in the midst of the challenges that feel like waves and billows overwhelming me, I cling to the assurance of Your lovingkindness. Your song "Great is thy Faithfulness" is with me in the night, and my prayer rises to You like incense, the God of my life.

Even when questions arise, and the enemy's oppression is felt, I declare that You are my Rock. I trust in Your unfailing love, and I choose to anchor my hope in You.

Why, O my soul, are you cast down? Why are you disquieted within me? My hope is in God, the One who is the health of my countenance, and my God. I praise You for Your steadfast love and everlasting faithfulness.

In the name of Jesus, I pray.

Amen.

Psalm 41

1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. 2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. 3 The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness. 4 I said, Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee. 5 Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish? 6 And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it. 7 All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt. 8 An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth, he shall rise up no more. 9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me. 10 But thou, O Lord, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them. 11 By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me. 12 And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever. 13 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

Prayer:

Gracious and merciful Father,

Blessed are You, the One who considers the poor and promises deliverance in times of trouble. I come before You, acknowledging Your sovereignty and the assurance that You preserve and keep those who trust in You.

In moments of weakness and illness, be my strength, O Lord. Uphold me on the bed of languishing, and may Your healing touch restore my soul. I confess my sins before You and ask for Your mercy and forgiveness. Heal me, and may my life bring glory to Your name.

Lord, I lift up those who speak evil, who plot against me, and those whose hearts are filled with malice. Let Your justice prevail, and may their plans be thwarted. Guard me against the whispers of hatred and the deceptions of the enemy.

Even in the midst of betrayal, I turn to You, for You are the God of mercy and restoration. Lift me up, O Lord, and let me not be overtaken by the schemes of those who seek my harm. I trust in Your unfailing love.

Thank You for being my stronghold and upholding me in integrity. May I continually walk in Your ways, and may my life be a testimony to Your faithfulness. Blessed be Your name, O Lord, from everlasting to everlasting.

In the name of Jesus, I pray.

Amen.

Psalm 40

1 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. 4 Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. 5 Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. 6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. 7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, 8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. 9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord, thou knowest. 10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation. 11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me. 12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. 13 Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me. 14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. 15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha. 16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified. 17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God. Prayer:

Abba Father, in the name of Jesus, I come before you with gratitude and praise, acknowledging your faithfulness and mercy. Just as the psalmist waited patiently for you and found deliverance, I too wait on you, trusting in your perfect timing and divine plan.

You have lifted me from the depths of despair, set my feet on solid ground, and surrounded me with your love. Thank you for the new song of joy and praise that you have placed in my heart.

Help me, O Lord, to make you my trust and to turn away from the distractions and deceptions of the world. May I seek your will and delight in doing it, with your law written upon my heart.

I declare your wonderful works and proclaim your righteousness to those around me. Let my life be a testament to your faithfulness, and may others be drawn to you through my words and actions.

In times of trouble, do not withhold your tender mercies from me, O Lord. Preserve me with your lovingkindness and truth. Deliver me from the snares that surround me, and let shame befall those who seek my harm.

I rejoice in you, O Lord, and magnify your name. Though I may be poor and needy, I find solace in the knowledge that you, my God, think upon me. Be my help and my deliverer, for I place my trust in you alone.

In Jesus' name, I pray.

Amen.

Psalm 38

1 O Lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. 2 For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore. 3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. 4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me. 5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness. 6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long. 7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh. 8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart. 9 Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee. 10 My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me. 11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off. 12 They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long. 13 But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth. 14 Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs. 15 For in thee, O Lord, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God. 16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me. 17 For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me. 18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin. 19 But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied. 20 They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is. 21 Forsake me not, O Lord: O my God, be not far from me. 22 Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation. Prayer :

Abba Father, in the name of Jesus, I come before You, acknowledging my faults and sins. Lord, please do not rebuke me in Your wrath or chasten me in Your hot displeasure. Your arrows have pierced me, and Your hand presses upon me. My own iniquities weigh heavily upon me like a burden too great to bear.

I am troubled, bowed down, and mourning throughout the day. My physical and emotional wounds are evident, a result of my foolishness and sinful ways. My strength fails, and I am feeble and broken. The disquietness of my heart has caused me to roar.

Lord, You see all my desires and hear my groaning. My heart pants, and the light of my eyes seems to fade. Even those close to me stand aloof, and my adversaries plot against me. I feel isolated and helpless.

Yet, in You, O Lord, I place my hope. I declare my iniquity and am sorry for my sins. I confess my need for Your mercy and forgiveness. Even in the midst of my troubles, I trust that You, O Lord, are my salvation.

Do not forsake me, O Lord; be not far from me. Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation. I rely on Your grace and mercy, trusting that, in Your perfect love, You will hear my plea and extend Your healing touch to my body, mind, and soul.

In the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, I pray.

Amen.
