Heavenly Father,
I come acknowledging my struggle with anger. I recognize that while anger itself is not sinful, the ways I often express it can be harmful and destructive. Help me, Lord, to manage my anger in a way that honors You and reflects the fruits of Your Spirit.
Teach me, Father, to pause before reacting, to take a deep breath and seek Your peace before I speak or act. Grant me the wisdom to understand the root of my anger—whether it stems from hurt, fear, frustration, or injustice—and address it constructively.
Remind me of Your call to be slow to anger, as it leads to better understanding and promotes peace (Proverbs 14:29). Let Your Holy Spirit guide my responses, turning potential conflicts into opportunities for growth and reconciliation.
Help me to express my feelings honestly and respectfully, without hurting others. Give me the courage to apologize when I have spoken out of turn or acted inappropriately. Let my words always be seasoned with grace and my actions motivated by love.
Increase my patience, Lord, especially in challenging situations. Strengthen my ability to endure irritation and provocation without losing my temper, trusting that You are in control and that Your grace is sufficient for me.
Thank You for Your mercy and forgiveness when I fail. Each day is a new opportunity to live out the teachings of Jesus, who showed us that it is possible to be angry and yet not sin (Ephesians 4:26). Help me to follow His example, to live righteously, and to offer forgiveness as freely as You have forgiven me.
Lord, transform my heart and renew my mind, that I may exhibit self-control in all aspects of my life. May my handling of anger bring glory to Your name and peace to my life.
In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
